Habitat Enhancement at Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve

In 2017, the Boise River Enhancement Network identified the need to re-establish native vegetation in the disturbed uplands at Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve to improve bird and wildlife habitat. Partnerships were created and funding secured to support an intense and very successful 2-year enhancement effort. Hundreds of invasive Russian olive trees were removed, but new trees keep growing. This stewardship event is to cut down big and small Russian olive trees and to wrap black cottonwood and willow trees to protect them from beavers. City of Boise staff will be on hand with chainsaws and chippers.
