The Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve Habitat Enhancement project is improving conditions for birds by restoring native vegetation to hillsides overrun with weeds. What kinds of birds do we expect to start visiting the reserve or come in greater numbers with reestablishment of rabbit brush, sagebrush, native grasses and other shrubs and forbs? Local bird expert Heidi Ware of the Intermountain Bird Observatory will introduce us to the hillside birds of the Hyatt Reserve and explain how the improved habitat will be beneficial. Eric Willadsen, Stewardship Manager of the Land Trust of the Treasure Valley, will describe the work that will be accomplished in 2018 and how important volunteers will be.
Bring your lunch and socialize at 11:30. The program starts at noon.
