The relicensing of the the Barber Dam Hydropower Project (P-4881) on the Boise River is getting underway. The project is located on the Boise River about a half mile upstream of Eckert Rd bridge. The project was given a 40-year license by the Federal Energy Regulatory (FERC) Commission in 1983. Kevin Lewis of Idaho Rivers United and the Hydropower Reform Coalition will explain the basics of the relicensing process and how the public, agencies and organizations can be engaged. Marie Kellner of the Idaho Conservation League will speak about environmental issues and mitigation.
