Barber Pool is located just a few miles from downtown Boise, but it can feel a million miles away. It’s been managed as a wildlife sanctuary for decades, and birds and wildlife abound. Barber Pool is created by Barber Dam, and with the relicensing of the Barber Dam hydropower project, increased attention is being paid to Barber Pool. Come learn about the Barber Pool reach of the Boise River from Brandy Wilson of Idaho Foundation for Parks and Lands which manages much of the pool shoreline, Joe Kozfkay, Fishery Manager for Idaho Fish and Game, Greg Kaltenecker, Executive Director Intermountain Bird Observatory and Rob Tiedemann, PhD, wildlife biologist and wetland scientist. Bring your lunch and get acquainted. The talk starts at 11:45.
