Join The Riverside Hotel, The Land Group and the Boise River Enhancement Network for a tour of the new riparian landscape along the river and the canal at the hotel. Turf was removed from more than 900 feet of waterfront and native plants were planted to improve wildlife habitat, flood resilience and aesthetics. Species were selected that were easy to grow and would preserve the views of the water. Removal of the grass drastically reduced the number of geese in the area and removal of invasive plants allowed native plants already on the site to spread.
Local botanist, Roger Rosentreter Ph.D will talk about the plants and the maintenance strategy and Doug Russell of the Land Group will talk about the planning, purchasing and planting.
